[He takes the paper from Kieren and skims it quickly. He's always been a fast reader, although he slows down some after the first bit. Some of this he knows already, but some of it -- a disturbing amount -- he doesn't. Almost as if the Admiral had purposefully kept it from him, even though he had to have known Simon would find out sooner or later.

And Kieren, of course, has already hit the nail on the head on exactly which part he finds most unsettling. Oh, he's not sure he likes the idea of going through any further alterations just yet, even temporary ones, but--]
